Ask an adult to help with this project:
Supplies:
3 rectangular mirrors of the same size
Tracing paper
Cardboard
Clear plastic
Scissors
Cellophane tape / electrical tape
Colored paper/ plastic cut into tiny shapes
Step
1
Place the rectangular mirrors on the cardboard. Draw around them and cut out the
shape.
Step 2
Tape the cardboards to the 3 mirrors. With the mirrors facing inwards, tape the
3 cardboards together to form a pyramid container.
Step 3
Cover one end of the container with cardboard, forming a triangular base. Using
a pencil, make a hole at the center of the base.
Step 4
Cut out the shape of the other triangular base on plastic sheet and tracing
paper.
Step 5
Tape two sides of the plastic and tracing paper together to make a
triangular envelope.
Step 6
Use various colored papers (or plastic sheet from a notebook) and cut
them into different tiny shapes. Put colored papers/ plastic into the triangular
envelope.
Step 7
Seal up the envelope and use it to cover the other end of the
container with the tracing paper as the exterior base.
Step 8
Point the tracing paper end towards the light and look through the
peephole.
Step 9
The mirrors reflect the shapes in a pattern. It changes when you turn
the kaleidoscope.
Supplies:
White paper
Tissue paper in different colors
Vinegar
Paint brush
Cut the tissue paper to small pieces
Use the paint brush to paint the white paper with vinegar
While the vinegar is wet cover with the tissue paper & let dry
Once dry remove the tissue paper for a surprise! (the color from the tissue will transfer onto the white paper)
Cut the white paper into any shape, a flower, big heart, or many shapes & glue on card, or cardboard for a bookmark.
Candle votive with paper or lace
(Have an adult help with this project)
Ingredients: (For tissue paper)
Baby food jar / clear glass jar without label
Colored tissue paper cut 1” X 1”
White glue
Mix ½ glue & ½ water ratio in container
Paint exterior of jar
Apply tissue paper to exterior & let dry
Ingredients: (For lace)
Thick lace
Fabric stiffener spray
Cut lace to fit diameter of jar (lace should not go underneath bottom of jar)
Place narrow rubber band around lace & spray with fabric stiffener & let dry. Remove rubber band.
Place votive in jar & have parent light & enjoy!
